Glen was born in New York City, moved to a farm in Indiana for a few years, then
moved to Northern California where he grew up. Glen served in the US Navy,
then attended the University of Missouri. After college, he then went to work for
General Motors where he remained employed until he retired. He began writing
with malicious intent to publish in 1968. Wicked Bronze Ambition, part of the
"Garrett P.I." series, was released in July of 2013 (it’s his 50th book). Glen is best
known for the "Black Company" books (which have been translated into about
20 languages and have sold more than a million copies). Glen is currently
working on adding more volumes to the Black Company cycle. Glen has a
wonderful wife and they are well into their fifth decade plus have three good
sons and clowders of grandchildren. Glen’s newest publication of the 4th
Instrumentalities of the Night volume, Working God’s Mischief, was released in
early March, 2014. In the past, when asked what advice he’d give to beginning
writers, he replied “DO IT! You've got to stop talking about it and sit down and
do it. Put your ass in front of a computer and do it."
